SwimFesT 2010, LAKESIDE: This race is in memory of our dear friend and open water helper Lou Parker who sadly passed away 19th July 2010. We are RAISING AWARENESS FOR: The Myfanwy Townsend Melanoma Research Fund: http://www.melanoma-fund.co.uk/ SFT AND TRIATHLON RACING INC. are pleased to announce a new open water swim festival at Lakeside in Essex. SWIMFEST 2010 will take place on Sunday 19th September in the lake at Europe's largest shopping complex and will launch with a unique programme of races ranging from 750metres to 5km to suit all abilities. These swim races will provide the perfect opportunity for competitive swimmers to test themselves in open water, for triathletes to aim for a GPS accurate and chip timed PB at the shorter distances or the 5k endurance event, and for NOVICE OR CASUAL SWIMMERS TO TRY THIS FAST EMERGING SPORT. | Event Venue | SWIMFEST 2010 Alexandra Lake, Lakeside Shopping Centre, Thurrock, RM20 2AB | Date | 19-9-2010 | Type | MULTIPLE DISTANCE Open water Swim races | Cost | £20 entry fee, £25 on the day. All event entries are online. Once you have an online entry account you can book openwater swim courses to prepare for the big day. will offer a 50% refund if cancellation is received via email 30 days prior to event.
- No refund will be offered after this date.
- In the highly unlikely case that an event is cancelled at short notice due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g. extreme weather, Foot and Mouth or similar) the event will be re-scheduled for the next available date and all entry fees carried over to that date. If you are not able to participate in this event, we will require 14 days notice post the event being canceled that you wish to carry the event over to another event.
- Once an event has been transfered it can not be transfered twice.
- There is a 2.5 hour time limit on the 5k race, 60mins on the shorter races. Please make sure you can complete the distance in this time.
