Our Saturday skills session is fully taught, aimed at newcomers to the sport of open water swimming or nervous open water swimmers. Here you will learn the skills required to make you more effective in open water.

£50 for a 3 session Skills Card
Please note you will need to bring your Skills Card to every session to get stamped. Cards can be used to attend any weeks in 2018, they don’t have to be used consecutively.

Our skills class is for swimmers who are new or are nervous of open water swimming. This is regardless of your swimming experience.
You will be required to wear a wetsuit and a brightly coloured swim hat, (apart from red) SFT will have hats for sale for £5 on the day.
The Lou Parker openwater charity race.
We run this fun race in memory of our good friend and fellow openwater swimmer Lou Parker. Lou sadly passed away in 2010 from Melanoma. We organise this race to raise the awareness of Melanoma to our amazing swimmers. All proceeds of this race are donated to:
SFT provide a BBQ breakfast after the final swimmer has finished swimming. Come and help us celebrate the life of our friend.
A 4k swim is available to swim as an individual or as a relay. This is a relaxed event so you can swim as much or as little as you want. Please note there is NO official timing available. Spot prizes will be presented at the BBQ.
